FROG Binders

Our FROG Binders are coming home for the first time tonight. Please check your child's binder with them to practice how to find assignments, homework pages, reading log, etc.

We spent time today writing in our planners. Please initial that you have seen your child's planner.

For homework tonight you will see a fluency page titled: Is it Fun? Please help your child read this story passage tonight. It may be a little a difficult and that is okay. Have your child read this passage one or two times each night this week. They should be able to read more fluently each night with less mistakes. If this passage is very easy for your child, you can work on attending to punctuation, reading with expression and at an appropriate pace. You do not need to return the fluency page to school.The students will conintue to receive fluency passages each week for homework. I would suggest to keep these passages in a folder at home so that you can continue to practice these throughout the year.

In combination with the fluency passage, please have your child read for at least 10 minutes tonight. You can help them record this information on their reading log. After all homework is completed, please remind your child to put their FROG Binder back in their backpacks to bring back to school tomorrow. It is very important that these are returned each day to school.

Tomorrow our class will be working in the garden. Please have your child wear tennis shoes and clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. We will also have library tomorrow, so please send back any books that you have at home.
