Weekly reminders and info

Sight Word Books:

Students will begin bringing home new sight word booklets this week. Each of these booklets contain 100 sight words and 100 phrases. Students will be practicing these words/phrases at school and home. Each student is able to move through the booklet at their own pace. The sight word booklets will come to and from school each day. It is best just to put them right back in your child's FROG Binder after practicing the words at home so they are available for reading groups and practice at school as well. I am getting these set up for the students over the next couple of days. Some students will have these today and others will be receiving their booklets tomorrow. There is also an information sheet coming home to explain these booklets a little more.

Family Tradition Questionnaire:

Thank you to those of you who returned your blue questionnaire pages and family pictures today. If you forgot, please try to get those to school tomorrow. We are working on a fun family tradition unit for the next few weeks as well as holidays around the world.

Changing Weather:

The weather is sure getting chilly!!! Please remember to send your child to school with a jacket, mittens, hat, etc. We do go out to recess in the cold and snow! On snow days, your child must have snow boots and snow pants to play in the snow.

Book Bags:

Please remember to return your bag of books to school each week on Monday. Your child will receive new books for the week. These decodable books are at your child's reading level and nightly reading is an important part in promoting reading development.
