News for the Week

FROG Binders:

Your student will be coming home with their FROG (Fully Responsible, Organized and Growing) Binders this afternoon. Please check their planner for homework/extended learning as well as the homework pocket. There is a spot for you to initial that you have seen their planner. Students should complete their extended learning/homework and place it in the "Turn In" pocket of the binder. It is the expectation that the FROG Binder is returned to school EVERY day.

Extended Learning (Homework):

Your child will have 2-3 homework assignments every night

EVERY NIGHT ASSIGNMENTS:

10 minutes of nightly reading: Please record time read/book titiles on the Reading Log in FROG Binder. Leveled books will be coming home in couple of weeks in order to provide reading opportunities at your child's reading level.

Superkids Backpack Page:

Mondays will be a fluency reading page. The fluency read can count towards the 10 minutes of nightly reading. Please have your child read the story each night. It may be challenging at first, but they should start to read quicker and smoother as the week progresses.

Tuesday's backpack page will be spelling word flashcards that can be cut our and practiced.

Wednesdays and Thursday backpack pages will be spelling practice pages.

2-3 TIMES PER WEEK:

Math homework: your child will have a math sheet that should be a quick review of the day's lesson. Parent tip sheets will accompany math on occasion to help you assist your child if necessary. Please check your child's binder as math homework may differ from night to night.

NO HOMEWORK ON FRIDAYS!

Picture Day:

Wednesday is picture day! There are no pre-order forms with the company that we are using this year. Forms will come home after Wednesday if you wish to purchase photos.
