Weekly Updates

Here are a few announcements for the week:

Field Trip: We will be heading to Skate City on Feb 21st. Permission slips are due tomorrow. Please pay your fee of $10.75 on the Parent Portal. If you tried and were unable to pay over the weekend, please try again. There was a little glitch and our field trip fee was not showing up. This issue has been fixed and you should be able to pay the fee now.

Adopt a Classroom:

We have a great opportunity to “pay it forward” to some students in the Houston area.

Larkspur has been paired with Burnett Elementary. Jocelyn Chavez is a teacher at Burnett Elementary, a Title 1 school. She educates 14 second grade, bilingual students everyday and has communicated with me that most of them have lost everything. Students are in great need of jackets to stay warm during the winter months. We are sure the Larkspur community can do that and more!!

Each classroom will adopt a student in Ms. Chavez’s class and begin raising funds. We will purchase a jacket/sweater for each student and the rest will go into a gift card for the classroom supplies.

Our classroom has adopted a boy named Adan. We will be collecting money through next week to help buy a jacket for Adan as well as a gift card to spend on other classroom items he needs. If you would like to donate to Adan, please send money in with your child this week or early next week. Feb 15th is the deadline for donating.

Valentine's Day: We will have a short holiday party at the end of the day on February 14th during which the kids will exchange valentines in Mailbox Bags that we’ll make in class. I've attached a class list if you’d like to participate in the exchange. I do ask that you include everyone if bringing Valentines. As of tomorrow, we will have 26 students in our class.
